ABOUT US

Ochre Fest is a three-day celebration of books, music, art, food and storytelling in Ochre Pit Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador.

What began as a small gathering of book lovers has grown into a vibrant cultural festival bringing together writers, musicians, artists and audiences from across the province. Set along the Baccalieu Trail, Ochre Fest offers an intimate, coastal experience where stories are shared, conversations unfold and community is at the centre of it all.

Founded in 2013 by Rebecca Rose (Breakwater Books) and Lisa Porter (Ochre House Retreat), the festival was created to share a love of books with friends, neighbours and visitors to the region. Today, it continues to evolve, expanding beyond literature to include music, visual art and culinary experiences, while staying rooted in its original spirit.

Our anchor venue is Ochre House Retreat in beautiful Ochre Pit Cove, Conception Bay.
